Workshop Overview

The “STEAM-Powered Sustainability: Teaching Climate Action through Liquid Skills” workshop introduced participants to climate justice through a hands-on STEAM approach. The session began with a climate domino icebreaker that helped participants connect environmental justice with peace and understand the relevance of SDGs 13 and 16.

Participants then explored key ideas about sustainable housing and renewable energy in a short interactive lesson. The main activity followed: a Tinkercad design challenge where teams created a sustainable house for climate-affected areas, integrating renewable energy features and later starting a physical prototype using recyclable materials. Facilitators supported groups with brainstorming, technical guidance, and creative problem-solving throughout the process.

The workshop concluded with group presentations, a reflection circle, and a final breakdown of the project through STEAM disciplines. The closing discussion emphasized how creativity, systems thinking, and collaboration can help students develop the “liquid skills” needed for future-ready climate and peace education.
