Workshop Overview

“The Education Fresco” workshop offered participants an interactive journey into the future of education in West Africa. After a short icebreaker and introduction to Forum 2040, participants explored key insights on regional education challenges and the importance of youth-led, climate-aware approaches. This set the foundation for understanding how young people across Africa are shaping new visions for learning, equality, and resilience.

The main activity involved working in groups with contextual cards—youth experiences, local data, climate challenges, and expert inputs—to create a visual “Education Fresco.” Each group mapped connections between problems and solutions, then shared their reflections in a short debate. The workshop closed with a collective call to action, highlighting how youth participation and creative collaboration can inspire meaningful change in education, peace, and justice.
