Workshop Overview

“The education Fresco – discovering the future of education in West Africa” workshop invites participants to explore how young people across West Africa are reimagining the future of education. After a short introduction and overview of Forum 2040, participants learn about key educational challenges in the region—especially those linked to climate change and 21st-century skills.

Working in groups, participants examine real ideas and solutions created by youth in Senegal, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and Morocco. Using contextualization cards, each group builds its own visual Education Fresco, connecting challenges, experiences, and innovative educational approaches. The session ends with group presentations, a short debate on the importance of youth-led solutions, and a final call to action for transforming education across Africa.
